DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Durham Police arrested a teenager Sunday who authorities say stole a man’s wedding ring and scratched his son during the armed robbery.
Elijah Rakwon Swain, 19, is charged in the incident which happened Oct. 24 in the 2900 block of Chapel Hill Road.
During the armed robbery, a man was getting out of his truck in the parking lot of an apartment complex when he was approached by two men, Durham Police said in an email.
One man was armed with a gun and the second was armed with a knife. The suspects took the victim’s phones and a wedding ring.
The victim’s 13-year-old son was scratched during the robbery.
Swain was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy and assault by pointing a gun.
The second suspect has not been identified.
Swain was arrested taken into custody Sunday on Holloway Street. He is being held in Durham County Jail under a $805,000 bond.
