GRANITE FALLS, N.C. (WBTV) – A man is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Caldwell County early Monday morning, officials confirm.
Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a domestic call around 1:23 a.m. in the 1200 block of Dudley Shoals Road.
“During the event, one Caldwell County Sheriff’s Deputy fired his weapon,” Caldwell County Public Information Officer LouAnne Kincaid says. The deputy has been placed on administrative leave.
No deputies were injured in the incident.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) is investigating the case.
The name of the man who died will be released pending autopsy results and after his family is notified of his death.
