HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A 46-year-old man faces felony charges after Hillsborough police said he hosted a party were juveniles smoked marijuana and drank alcohol.
Around 9 a.m. on December 4, officer responded to a home on Lafayette Drive after a call concerning underage drinking.
The responding officers found beer cans scattered in the home’s front yard.
A juvenile opened the door for the officers and allowed them inside the home.
Hillsborough police reported the officers immediately smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the home.
Once inside, the officers found marijuana growing equipment and a marijuana plant. Those items were seized along with other drug paraphernalia.
Following an investigation, it was revealed around 15 juveniles drank alcohol and/or smoked marijuana at the party.
On December 12, Ryan Douglas McDonnell, 46, of Hillsborough and charged in connection with the party.
He was charged with
• Felony manufacturing of a Schedule VI controlled substance.
• Felony possession of marijuana.
• Aiding and abetting the sale or purchase of alcohol by underage persons.
• Possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was released on a $50,000 unsecured bond.
