FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – Santa Claus was hard at work, but he made a quick pit stop in Fayetteville before heading back there later Saturday night.

Kris Kringle visited some rescued animals at the Koolz Adoption Program.

The eight dogs and two  cats were rescued from shelters where they could have been killed.

Jolly old Saint Nick spent quality time with each animal, something the staff says they greatly appreciate.

“They don’t have a Christmas tree and fosters would be awesome – just for them to experience a home Christmas,” Program Director, Maria Bruner explained. “Even if you can’t keep them, just being around a live Christmas tree and smelling all the smells and feeling that love that is around on Christmas that Christmas miracle.”

The 10 rescues are looking for their forever homes.

Food and money are also needed to keep the program going.
