Man robs Chapel Hill bank, gets away with cash

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) — A man robbed the branch of PNC Bank on East Rosemary Street in Chapel Hill on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The man entered the bank, displayed a weapon and demanded money, according to police. He left the bank on foot, headed toward North Street with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

Police describe the suspect as a black man between 50 and 60 years old, standing 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a slender build. He was wearing glasses, a black baseball cap, a navy blue polo-style shirt with green and white stripes and a black jacket with a red design, according to police.
