Glenwood Avenue, closed by gas leak, reopens

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A gas leak closed Glenwood Avenue between Peace and Washington streets on Tuesday afternoon. The road reopened about 2:30 p.m., police said.

A third-party contractor clipped a gas line shortly before noon Tuesday, which causing a leak, PSNC Energy said.


Workers from PSNC Energy secured the leak at about 1:45 p.m. and are now working on repairs. No evacuations were reported.

Police said they’re unsure how long the section of Glenwood Avenue will be closed. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible or utilize an alternate route if necessary.
