NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WNCN) – Emergency officials are responded to a shooting at the Northwoods Mall late Monday afternoon.

As of 6:30 p.m., officers were still going store-to-store to clear the area.

Around 6:10 p.m., the Charleston Post and Courier reported that Mayor Keith Summey says there is not an active shooter at the mall.

North Charleston Police and Fire Departments, the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, and EMS crews are responding.

Witnesses told WCSC that they heard a “pop” then saw people running.
