RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Raleigh police are investigating after a woman said she was assaulted Monday morning by someone at Lake Johnson.
About 9 a.m., a 35-year-old woman told police she was near the water’s edge when a man grabbed her by the shirt. Raleigh police said the woman was able to get away, only suffering minor abrasions.
The victim made a 911 call where she said a man came from behind her and tried to drag her into the bushes.
“I managed to escape so I ran to my car,” the caller said.
The victim told dispatch the suspect told her to “shut up or I will (expletive) you up.”
She complained of having a cut on her hand that was bleeding following the incident.
“He told me if say anything and I see you alone here, I’m going to go after you,” the caller said. “I’m scared to go home.”
The suspect was said to be wearing a black baseball hat, white t-shirt and blue jeans.
Raleigh police said there is not a public safety concern due this incident.
