GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – One person is hurt after a tanker overturned on McCall Road, near Log Shoals Road, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at about 5:39 p.m. Sunday.

The Highway Patrol and South Greenville Fire Department responded to the crash.

According to troopers, a 31-year-old man was driving a 2014 Freightliner and traveling west on McCall Road when a deer ran out in front of him.

He tried to avoid hitting the deer, causing him to run off the right side of the road, hit a tree, and overturned, troopers say.

The driver was seatbelted but injured, and was taken by EMS to Greenville Memorial Hospital.

The road was closed for a while after the crash so first responders could work to move the tanker.

According to our crew, the truck was carrying a flammable resin, but there was no leak.

No charges will be filed.
