DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – A man suffered critical injuries in a shooting on Bedford Street in Durham Monday morning, police said.
Officers received a shooting call around 11:15 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 2000 block of Bedford Street, police confirmed.
A male victim was shot in his abdomen while he was inside one of the apartment units, according to a news release from Durham police.
The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of critical injuries.
A woman surrendered to police a short time later, officials said.
Lavondra Parker, 22, of Durham is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, assault with a deadly weapon with a minor present and discharging a firearm within the city limits.
“This appears to have been a domestic incident,” police said in the news release.
Parker is being held without bond in the Durham County Jail.
