Fayetteville police officer cited following Fort Bragg assault, officials say

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – A Fayetteville police officer has been placed on administrative leave after he was detained by police on Fort Bragg following a reported assault on Wednesday, officials said.

The Department of Defense Civilian Police on Fort Bragg contacted Fayetteville police to say they had detained Adrian Williams, 25, on post following the assault, police said.

Williams received a citation connected to the assault from the DoD Civilian Police.

Williams has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an administrative investigation by the Fayetteville Police Department’s Internal Affairs Unit.

No other information was immediately available.
