DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Glenn School Road in Durham was shut down following a single-vehicle crash that took down a utility pole Thursday morning, the Durham County Sheriff’s Office said.
Glenn School Road from Glenn Road to Interstate 85 was shut down while repair crews replaced the pole.
A preliminary investigation shows that a male driver lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a utility pole around 1 a.m. on Glenn School Road.
The sheriff’s office said the man was trying to avoid hitting a deer in the road. The driver was uninjured.
The road reopened around 11:30 a.m.
