WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WNCN) — The first half was a defensive struggle between reigning champ Wake Forest and Mallard Creek during the 4AA title game Saturday at BB&T Field at Wake Forest University.
Mallard Creek’s quarterback was a sitting duck at one point when he was sacked by Jadacus Logan.
But, the game was scoreless going the fourth quarter.
That changed when Chris James rolled out to the endzone and John Jiles made the grab in a sea of defenders. That got Wake Forest on the scoreboard.
Just 2:20 minutes later, Wake Forest’s Marquis Dunn got loose and ran 54 yards to glory for another touchdown.
Devon Lawrence provided an exclamation point with another score and Wake Forest repeated as the title holders with a 21-0 score.
